i love how God works and how He constantly refines me. i so need that.
this whole house thing has been part of that process for me. last week i was consumed by the house. i was dreaming about it at night, and thinking about it during the day. how i would decorate. what colors i would paint the rooms. i was mentally moving in without really thinking if moving there was what was best. i wasn't being content. i wasn't trusting God.
may i continue to be reminded that Heaven is my true and final home, Christ is my treasure, and my all satisfying joy. i am created for His glory.
Because your steadfast love is better than life,
my lips will praise you. Psalm 63:3

So encouraging. I can so relate to feeling consumed by these sorts of things, especially earthly homes. Thanks for the reminder.
I read yesterday that God likes it when we're in over our heads because then we rely on Him more and realize how much we really do need Him. Sometimes I think we have these times when we're consumed just so that we can realize what's really important. Thanks for the thought today!
i can TOTALLY relate!!! love that song. hang in there. it's all about perfect timing. :)
Great reminder!
I read all about the house (LOVE IT!). We host a community group in our home on Wednesday nights, too. We moved into this home last year after much prayer and we vowed we'd allow God to use it whenever He needed. :-)
I can soooo relate!! Thanks for the reminder. Love the song too.
Love this Wendy! I think a lot of women can relate. I do believe that God made us to be nurtures of "home" for our family. I, too, struggle with wanting a particular type of home. God has been so good to teach me contentment, rather than giving me just what I thought I wanted. I hope He gives you contentment too (and also the house) if it be His will. ;)
Lately I have been struggling with the neatness(or lack of) in my home. It is a big mess somedays...with all of our art activities and school books, etc...it can be overwhelming and frustrating for me. I have been reminded lately that even those kind of desires can be idols of the heart if it becomes to important to me or causes me to sin...I must keep everything in Biblical perspective.
So, I can relate to this.
