6

oh happy day! i was able to run outside this morning.
45 degrees and pretty windy with some light rain, but still felt great.

i'm trying to get to 1,000 miles by the end of this year. i have some work to do to get there. i have 142 miles to go, so i will need to average 3 miles per day.

still trying to figure out what my goals will be for next year. i'd love to hear yours. do you
have a goal of how many miles you want to run in a year? or certain races that you want
to finish? pr goals?

in other totally unrelated news:
isn't this a cute idea for a kid's table for the holidays.
(can't remember where i found this picture.)

Wendy - I DO love that table!!

my goals - don't you ask this every year? and I don't fulfill them! :(

SO, my goal this year is to set realistic but challenging goals and to actually accomplish them!

I do not have a mileage goal.

But I do have a race goal:

In 2010 I will run (not walk) a half-marathon.

I will likely shoot for the spring since the winter here is the best time to train. I have a few races I am looking at, I just have to talk to my husband and see which one he thinks will work for us, since they all involve travel.

Right now I am training for a 5k. I will probably do 2-3 of those and then I will begin my training for the half. I will stretch out my training by doubling up weeks in the beginning in order to simply get more miles on my legs before I build too much, if that makes sense. (My husband's suggestion - being the long distance coach that he is, I always ask him for training advice!) That being said, some of this depends on the date of my Half. I will keep you posted.

My goal for 2010 is to run a half marathon. Don't know which one yet but I do have a few picked out.

Cute pic, looks like Pottery Barn kids? Love how they drew the placemat on the paper.

Wow- 1000 is an ambitious goal. But I'm amazed at how close you are! You can do it!
My goals? Since at the moment my knees are KILLING me as I increase my mileage for the half in December, I think my goal for next year will be (at least) 1 5K, 1 10K and to spend more time on strength-training and my core. All the time I'm spending running is making it nearly impossible to find time for the gym. And since I still have about 15-20 lbs to lose, I need to make that part of my goals.

I LOVE the kids table - might have to show that to my Mom for our feast. Thanks for sharing.

my goal this year was 750. i may make it. we'll see how it goes when i start to run next weekend after a 3 week rest break. next year - to run a full marathon - either in jan. or march. and to strengthen my core, more.
you on the other hand, are doing AWESOME! you could totally make that goal by the end of the year!!!

As you know the big goal I'm considering is the OKC Memorial Marathon. I am also looking at the Rock-n-Roll Half Marathon in Dallas to get a race under my belt since I have not done one in a while. My other goals are to add strength training and to stay injury free.
I know it was nice to get outside to run.
Cute table, love the drawn on place mats.
I hope you make your 1000 miles, I think that is impressive!

Hi, Wendy. Goals for next year... Mileage? 600-800 miles

Marathons? NO fulls. You are right in what you said in that other post. It's not fair to our families to do them every year (two for me this year). In two years, all of mine will be in school, so maybe...

Half-Marathons? Yes, please. Several. Love that distance.

Here's a goal I just thought of--- Read one Bible verse daily for every mile I run. I wish I had read 1000 Bible verses this year, but I know I didn't.
