IT'S SUMMER! we survived our final week of school, and i even managed to do a little running in between the craziness.

monday - 3 miles
wednesday - 4 miles
thursday- 3 miles
sunday - a super hot 8 miles. it was 92 degrees and humid, which is explains why i didn't see another runner the entire time i was out! i stayed hydrated, and surprisingly felt really good the whole time.
monday - spent memorial day having a picnic breakfast with our church. i played sand volleyball there, then came home and rode 13 miles (i wore my garmin to track the miles) on my bike. it was a great day!

finally getting around to posting about last week. the weather has been great lately.
i've been feeling so good, and finding so much joy in each mile. such a gift!

tuesday - 5 miles - ran to the softball fields for practice.
wed - 3 miles
thursday - 3 miles
sunday - 10 miles. it was warm and windy. i felt great, especially when the wind was at my back. ☺
i'm so ready for the 1/2! the funny thing is, i'm probably not going to be running it. i'm signed up, but a bunch of friends are going on a camping trip that weekend, and we were invited. i know this would be such a fun time for us. i wish there was some way to do both, but i know there will be other races.
i want to keep first things first.

3 more weeks until i run the 1/2.

this week looked like this:
monday - 6 miles - felt amazing! wish i would have had time to run longer.
tuesday - softball practice - lots of fun, until i pulled a muscle in my right leg. ugh.
wednesday - 3 miles - very sore, but somehow i managed to get through it.
thursday - 3.4 miles - still sore, but my leg felt quite a bit better.
saturday - planning on 10. supposed to be perfect weather for it. the only hard part will be fitting it in. in the morning, we are cheering a friend's daughter on at her soccer game, then going to a baseball game, and graduation parties for friends all afternoon.

6 more days until my baby turns 7. not sure where those 7 years went. she wants a princess castle cake.
i'm hoping to make something like this:
(found here, of course).

Happy Mother's Day to all the mom's out there. what a privilege it is to be a mother!
being a mom is one of the most challenging, yet amazing jobs ever. there is nothing like a child to cause you to fall on your knees at the feet of our Heavenly Father pleading for help. sometimes I get so overwhelmed with my responsibility as a mom. it is a job that no matter how good my intentions, or how hard I try, i can't do on my own. i need the help of my Heavenly Father. everyday.
I lift my eyes to the hills--
where does my help come from?
My help comes from the LORD,
the Maker of heaven and earth.
Psalm 121:1-2

April Favorites

i really have no idea where april went...
as promised, here are a few of my favorites from the month.
i bought this skirt from LOFT for 50% off. they only had one left and it was in my size. i guess it was meant to be! ☺
i'm reading this with the kids again.
i love that it's not just a collection of Bible stories, but that it captures the progressive story of redemption and remains Christ-centered.

this was a simple crock pot recipe i found on pinterest. so easy to make, and perfect for busy nights with baseball games right now. i'm trying really hard to avoid fast food, even though it would be so much more convenient after a baseball game that ends at 8:00 p.m.

loving this blog right now. she has great style! i love everything about her boy's room, especially those pillows.
this song. listen to the words. so good.

feeling great this week!
tuesday - somehow i managed to fit in a quick 3 miles, even though it was a super busy day!
wednesday - 5 miles - in the 80's today. getting used to running in the heat again.
thursday - 6 miles - ran old school! i forgot my garmin, which made me realize how much i rely on that thing. i love being able to see my pace and mileage. i drove my route when i was done to make sure it was 6. before the days of garmins, i used to do that all the time. thankful that's not the case anymore.
saturday - nice temperature, but humid. i ran to my son's baseball game. i thought it was going to be about 6 miles, and the route i took ended up being close to 9 miles. needless to say, i was late to the game. good thing he has a bazillion more for me to see this summer. i kept my pace right at 9:25, which i was happy with.

less than a month until the 1/2.

looking forward to running tomorrow before we leave to meet our new niece, Ella.
