home from a week away. we went on a cruise to cozumel, mexico and belize. the weather wasn't ideal, but we had a great time and it was nice to be away from the snow. it was mostly rainy and windy, but we did have a few breaks in the weather and we took full advantage of it. i ended up putting in 26 miles this week too, which was so nice. the treadmills in the fitness center were at the front of the ship, facing the ocean. it was so wonderful. a couple times i had to hold on though because the ship would move and you felt like you were going to fly off the treadmill.
we went to the beach (even though it was mostly rainy) and to some botanical gardens in cozumel. in belize we went on a tour of the mayan ruins and the rainforest.
i'll be sharing pictures over the next couple days.
now back to reality. lots of laundry to do. kids to snuggle. groceries to buy.

another date with the treadmill this morning - ran 5 miles.
i haven't had a pop for over 2 weeks. yay me! i had gotten into a bad habit and was having them too often. now i will just have one once in a great while. water with lemon is a great substitute for the days when i feel like i want something a little different.
a friend of mine is trying to go without sugar for a year. that's quite the challenge.
it's staying light out for a bit longer now. spring is on it's way! ♥

ran 4 on the treadmill today. i think this is the first winter ever that i've stayed consistent with exercise. i've been trying to step it up a little; not just stay with my normal speed just because it's comfortable (Thanks Tina for the encouragement!). it's not easy, but i am feeling good.

how did the challenge go last week? i ended up exercising 7 days. i'm going to try to do 6-7 again this week w/more jillian.
this morning i did more shoveling, and ran 4 miles on the treadmill.
it's going to be a busy week. lots of packing to do for our trip. i think we have something going on every night, except friday (our family night). all good stuff though. definitely lots to be thankful for!

i usually don't weigh myself, but this week i did. i weighed myself on monday. i have worked out everyday this week, and have been making healthy food choices. this morning when i stepped on the scale, i expected to see a change. nothing...zero. no loss. no gain. ugh, so frustrating and disappointing. now i remember why i don't weigh myself on a regular basis. i know there are lots of reasons for the ups and downs and the number reflected on the scale, but it's still frustrating.
the good news (and probably most important thing) is - i've been consistent this week, and i feel better. the plan for this coming week is to do more of the same, but add in more jillian. i'm also planning on writing down what i eat. it's not going to be something i do forever, just for now.
obviously, i won't be able to keep this up when we are on vacation, but i am going to try to exercise everyday while we're gone. maybe i'll eat less cheesecake then i did on the last cruise?! ha!
sunday the kids want to make a nice dinner for dad and decorate the table for valentine's day. we bought him the cd he has been wanting: one of our favorite singers! have you heard of him??

ran 3 miles on the treadmill this morning. running on a treadmill really makes me respect the mile. it is not easy. how can a speed of 6.0 only be a 10 minute mile? this chart has got to be wrong, or maybe my treadmill is just super fast. or, maybe the truth just hurts.
after running, i headed out for workout #2. an hour worth of shoveling. according to this, i burned just over 300 calories. weird that i actually looked it up, but whatever keeps me motivated, i guess.
i'd like to have a vanilla latte today, but i won't.

i'm trying to stay positive about it. we've had over 2 feet above our normal totals this year.
the good news is it's a great day to stay inside and get our school done and do some cleaning.
the even better news is i will be in the caribbean in less than 2 weeks.
i thought about making cinnamon rolls for the kids this morning, but remembered i can't have those this week. so, we had oatmeal and bananas instead. then, i ran 3 miles on the treadmill.
so thankful to have the treadmill, especially on days like this.

had a great workout today. started using some weights again.
this week is going to be a "no junk" week (starting after tomorrow - gotta splurge a little for superbowl), and i'm hoping to exercise 6/7 days. wish me luck!

now i'm off to run on the treadmill.
-by the way, i decided not to run a full this year. i'm thinking it will probably have to be an every other year thing while my kids are young. so this year, i will be focusing on 10k's and 1/2's and improving my time.

i started the day off by rearranging my boy's room. he was tired of the same arrangement, and it gave me a reason to tackle under his bed. ugh. what a mess! we found clothes that we thought were lost and a few toys as well. i was so glad to hear that he likes his room much better now.
