::the kids love our chalkboard wall. if we move, i'll have to paint another somewhere.

i ran today. can you believe it?! it has been f.o.r.e.v.e.r.
i wish i could say it was a great 5 miles.
the first 2 miles i tried to run like tina. i felt pretty good until i stopped and then my legs started to tighten up.
the last 3 miles were tough. i slowed down, and i stopped to stretch twice. i'm glad i went though. the hardest part is always getting out the front door, especially after taking a break.
so, it begins again. i'm starting from zero all over again.
isn't it crazy how fast you can get out of shape and lose endurance?!

the weather is so nice right now - perfect for running. i am so thankful to be off the treadmill!

**in other news, my friend jenn is giving my blog a make-over. i can't wait to show you!!!

wow, what a random blog i have! you never know what you'll read here, i guess.

a goal for 2010:: when i read this post the other day, it totally motivated me to get busy on organizing my photo albums. i have a few boxes of pictures that i need to get into albums, and most of my albums are not in very good chronological order. i also have lots of pictures i need to print. i think it may take the rest of the year to get to this point:but, i think it will be worth it. look how nice her albums look!

::plugging along in school. we should be done by the end of may.

::this is the book i am reading aloud to the kids. it is written by three homeschooling siblings: girl age 22, boy age 16, and girl age 12. they take turns writing on the same topic. the book is filled with humorous family stories which help to illustrate the points they are making.
it continues with talking about how doing big things for God requires us to begin by doing "little things" for our siblings, how different people view the world differently, and covers the topics of forgiveness, humility, birth order, praising one another, and truly building friendships. we're really enjoying it. i hope the kids are soaking up what they are hearing, and will put some of these things into practice.

*we did end up getting an offer on friday, but it was pretty low and they were not willing to negotiate at all. we had an open house this weekend and 3 people came. we also had 2 showings on sunday. it's good that we're getting some traffic. (i'm trying to stay positive.)

wow, it has been so busy here! we refinished and painted our basement, replaced carpet in our living room, and cleaned our house from top to bottom. today we had the realtor open house and tonight we had our first showing. we just got another call tonight from a realtor saying she has someone that wants to see it tomorrow night. so exciting that we are already having some traffic!

the offer we made has a contingency saying that we must sell our house within 45 days. it took us a week to get our house ready to list, so now we will just wait and see what happens. even if we don't sell it, we're getting lots of things done around here that we always meant to do. putting your house up for sale is such a great motivator!

it was 55 and sunny today. perfect running weather! i saw so many runners out today. i can't wait to get out there again!

--update-- the couple that looked last night is coming back tonight, and there is also someone else coming at 4:00 today. let's hope for an offer!

Psalm 63:3

i love how God works and how He constantly refines me. i so need that.
this whole house thing has been part of that process for me. last week i was consumed by the house. i was dreaming about it at night, and thinking about it during the day. how i would decorate. what colors i would paint the rooms. i was mentally moving in without really thinking if moving there was what was best. i wasn't being content. i wasn't trusting God.

may i continue to be reminded that Heaven is my true and final home, Christ is my treasure, and my all satisfying joy. i am created for His glory.

Because your steadfast love is better than life,
my lips will praise you. Psalm 63:3

yesterday when we went to look at the house again, there were 5 deer sitting in the backyard! it was beautiful. it made me love this house even more. it's been quite the week - emotionally. we're still not at a place where we're ready to make an offer. i'm not sure if we will be. if it was just up to me, it would have already happened. but, i know that whatever is decided in the end will be what's best. i'm trying to trust and know that if it was meant to be, things will fall into place. i'm not good at the waiting or not knowing part of anything. it's been hard, but good for me.

in other news, here is the 10 week schedule i am using to get ready for a 20k the beginning of june. it won't look exactly like this; i'm planning to run a 1/2 the end of april, but it gives me something to work with. a plan is a must-have for me.

i have fallen in love with a house. we went to the open house this weekend and it was like we walked into the house that was meant for us. it is in town, but it is in a wooded area. lots of windows. kitchen open to the living room. it has more space to host our small group on wednesday nights (which we do frequently), skylights (which i have always loved), vaulted ceilings, and i could go on and on. lots of things we love. of course, there are down sides too...more money, moving away from neighbors we love, not being within walking distance of a park. oh, and selling a house. you know, the minor details.

i know if it was meant to be, things will fall into place. we're not in the making an offer stage. we're just making a list of pros and cons and running the numbers. i need to detach myself a little emotionally and not mentally move into this house. i tend to only think of the positive aspects; thankfully my husband has a better balance.

i haven't run for 3 days. the weekend ended up being a soggy mess and super busy. planning to run today and get back on track.

::she made this for her little sister this morning. so sweet!

51:365

::the recipe makes 3 loafs. we usually eat one, freeze one, and give one away. click on the link - it has a 5 star rating from almost 3,500 people.

it's going to be almost 50 here this weekend! i'm hoping to run OUTSIDE! i know, can you believe it?!? it's going to be so nice to get off the treadmill.
walked a mile and ran 4 this morning.

steve had really good empanadas while we were on our trip, so i'm going to attempt to make some tonight for the first time.
the pumpkin bread is for my boy - it's one of his favorites.

** laughing at how i spelled dentist. a perfect example of a distracted mom trying to write a to-do list. i really do know how to spell it. ha!
