this week was 3, 7, 4, 15 with perfect weather!
i'm trying to add in some additional miles to my training by walking. sometimes i walk with the kids, or my husband, or sometimes we all go. it's been good for all of us.
monday - ran 2 (under 9 min. miles) with hubby and walked 1. we both felt blah after not eating the best on vacation for the last two weeks. walked 3 miles later that evening.
tuesday - ran 4 and walked 4 in the evening. my middle daughter went with us on the walk. i'm thankful that we've always found fun ways to be active with our kids. i noticed so many overweight kids while we were on vacation. really made me sad. maybe some of them had health reasons for it?, but i would guess the majority of them just eat too much and move too little. ok, off my soapbox.
wednesday - 7 miles in the morning with my friend carol. i needed the accountability of a friend today. still feeling heavy and gross after vacation, but i made it.
thursday - rest day - walked all day at an amusement park. fun day with family! another reminder that i'm getting older. i can't do all the rides that i used to be able to anymore because i start feeling sick.
saturday - 15. brought by handheld water bottle, but forgot my gels. boo. oh well, i made the best of it. it was a beautiful morning, and i was finally feeling pretty good (maybe all the walking has helped?). stopped once to fill up my water and two or three times waiting at stop lights. so thankful to finally have a good long run! i needed that boost of confidence.
as promised, here are a couple pictures from our vacation to south carolina.
this was the amazing view we had from our beach house! we were just steps from the beach.
watching dolphins swim right by our boat.

Is the tree lined road where you run/walk? So pretty! Looks like a nice vacation, too!
Love your pictures! Vacation can certainly make one feel blah, but sounds like you've found your running footing again :)
great job getting the miles in during vacation! I was only able to walk this past week, so pretty nervous about my long run tomorrow!
Ha! I was just talking to someone tonight about amusement parks and how we get sick. We are headed to one on Monday.
SC coast! Curious where you went (I live in SC), was this the first time vacationing here? (sorry my memory fails me as to if you've mentioned before!)
Great training!!! Having a good long run is such a motivation boost!! LOVE the SC pictures, the view- stunning!!
oh nice!! that is where my fam goes every year too :) glad you enjoyed it! we love it for it's quiet-ness and non-developed-ness. it's nice to truly get away.
15 miles with no gels! wow!! how did you feel after? good job on getting it done!
